New operational standards aligned with client expectations

To support the BOURBON Leadership 2015 strategy, a new Operational Safety Management (OSM) system has been developed to compliment the offshore industry’s new OVID program, particularly the OVMSA standards of excellence. This innovative modern system integrates the entire management chain and has been deployed within all affiliates companies of the Group.

 

OSM Philosophy

SMS: the “detail” to support OSM. The new Safety Management System incorporates the latest revision to the ISM Code and conforms to all applicable international laws and regulations.

OSM 12 Golden Rules

Each OSM Element has a dedicated “Golden Rule” that outlines the essential value of the element.

  1. Lead by example
  2. Develop experience and competence
  3. Maintain compliance to standards
  4. Maintenance for reliability – reliability for Safety
  5. Plan ahead – stay vigilant
  6. If it is not safe – stop work
  7. Change needs to be assessed
  8. Effective investigation prevents reoccurrence
  9. Accidents are preventable
  10. Respect and protect the environment
  11. Prepare for the unexpected
  12. You can’t manage what you don’t measure
